Privacy notice – Fuel Poverty and Domestic Energy
What we do
The Fuel Poverty and Domestic Energy Team provide you with advice on energy in your home, for example if you are in fuel poverty, and refer you to other services if relevant.
The Fuel Poverty and Domestic Energy Team also provide a range of support and where appropriate, and with your consent, we will use the information you provide to apply for additional support you might be entitled to, and to other schemes of interest to you.
This could include applications for grant funding for domestic energy improvements, additional support or discounts from your energy and water companies, or support from other local organisations. Any information we intend to share will be explained to you, and you will be asked for your consent again before it is shared.

Why we need your data
We collect your personal data in order to:
- deliver services to you
- enable households to access external sources of funding for heating, insulation and energy related advice and information
- enable evaluation of government domestic energy saving schemes.

How we store your personal information
We are committed to doing all that we can to keep your data secure. We have set up systems and processes to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure of your data - for example, we protect your data using varying levels of encryption.
Your data will be kept for a maximum of 3 years. We will then dispose of your information by deleting all records.
Your rights
You have the right to request:
- information about how your personal data is processed
- a copy of that personal data
- that anything inaccurate in your personal data is corrected immediately
You can also:
- raise an objection about how your personal data is processed
- request that your personal data is erased if there is no longer a justification for it
- ask that the processing of your personal data is restricted in certain circumstances
