Apply for a demolition notice

If you are planning to demolish a building or part of a building, you must submit a demolition notice to us, giving at least six weeks' notice.
Have your say

We want your input on our draft Planning Enforcement Plan, which will guide our approach to tackling breaches in planning regulation in Lewisham - we're re-opening our July/August consultation for more public feedback:

Some planning documents unavailable

We're currently experiencing an issue with our website where some of our planning documents are unavailable.

If you need a planning document that's currently not available from our website, please email planning@lewisham.gov.uk for a copy.

What happens next

We will send you an acknowledgement on the day we receive your application, with your reference number.

Building or demolition work can cause problems for neighbours of the site. You can reduce or avoid causing any nuisance to the neighbours or action being taken by the Council, if you:

  • send a letter to the neighbours before work starts, telling them about the work and what to expect

  • give the neighbours a contact name and telephone number and keep them informed

  • deal promptly with any complaints received on site

  • keep dust, noise and smoke to a minimum.
