Applications are now open for the Small and Faith Fund 2018–19. We have a total of £100,000 to give to community projects.
Come up with an idea for a community project.
Set up a fundraising project on our Crowdfunder page.
If your project reaches its target through crowdfunding or match funding (funding which is not crowd sourced e.g. grants, gifts or earned income) and meets the criteria below, we will we will consider giving your project a grant.
The maximum proportion of funding we can make to any project is 65% of project total cost, up to a maximum of £10,000.
You must raise as much money as possible from your community and not rely on our pledge.
When you set up your Crowdfunder campaign, you need to submit:
online terms and conditions agreement (this allows the Council to pledge to your project)
a comprehensive budget and projected costs
your organisation’s bank account details.
After we have assessed your project, we will tell you if you need to submit a governing document.
To be eligible for the Small and Faith Fund, projects must:
be submitted by a community, voluntary or faith organisation
focus on benefitting residents in the Lewisham borough (minimum 85% of recipients of project)
actively promote equal opportunities and social inclusion.
We cannot fund:
individuals – if you are an individual with an idea you could link up with a local organisation (contact us if you would like help with this)
activities that promote political views or religious beliefs
commercial or business-related activities
spending that has already taken place
projects that already receive funding from Lewisham Council.
If your project isn’t eligible for the Small and Faith Fund, you can still try and bring your idea to life through crowdfunding.
We can only fund projects that reflect our funding priorities.
The Small and Faith Fund aims to support:
work with vulnerable adults
arts and sports initiatives, particularly those aimed at promoting inter-generational activities and widening access.
We are keen to fund projects that will invest in the community long-term or develop sustainable activities.
We want to hear about projects that:
offer new, innovative ways of working with the community, not just business as usual
have clear support for the project from the community and match funders.
Contact us to ask a question or discuss your project in more detail.
