Note for landlords

Landlords should be aware that once their property becomes vacant, any waste or unwanted items left from the previous occupancy is no longer considered household waste. It becomes commercial waste, which is waste generated from a business. It is the duty of the landlord to ensure its safe and correct removal. Lewisham’s household waste and recycling centre is for domestic waste only.

Commercial vehicles will not be allowed on site.

This includes:

  • vans with commercial signage
  • pickup trucks
  • minibuses
  • trailers

Hired vans will be accepted (incl man and van) on site as long as evidence is provided that the vehicle has been hired, ID such as a passport or driving licence and proof of address.
