Privacy notice – Property, Planning and Environment

​Information about how and when the Property, Planning and Environment Team processes personal information about you.​

What we do

We issue agreements, notices and orders under the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. Our privacy notice covers information gathered for those purposes. It also applies to agreements and licences issued under the Highways Act 1980.

What information we collect

We may collect:

  • your name

  • your addresses

  • names and addresses of others (if there are other individuals with an interest in land where enquiries are made)

  • information about personal circumstances

  • information about whether occupiers of properties are related

  • information about mortgages on land

  • health information.

Agencies we might share the information with

We may share your information with:

  • the planning inspectorate

  • your GP

  • NHS

  • other local authorities

  • police

  • barristers' chambers and law firms

  • process servers

  • HM courts

  • banks, building societies and lending institutions

  • trustee in bankruptcy and official receiver

  • Transport for London.

Why we process your information

We process your information so that we comply with our legal duties as a local planning authority and a highway authority.

We may also gather information about individuals so the Council complies with its duties under the Equalities Act 2010 and the Human Rights Act 1998 when carrying out a public task.
