Apply for regularisation
If you completed works without our approval, you need to apply for retrospective building control approval through a process called regularisation.

The Planning Committee B meeting on Tuesday 3 September 2024 has been cancelled and the item on the agenda will be rearranged at a future date.
Planning service chargesPlanning services have introduced new charges for withdrawing planning applications that have not been validated. These charges are to recover administrative costs. The charge for Non-Major applications is £41.67 (£50 including VAT) and for Major applications, it is £125 (£150 including VAT).
What happens when you apply for regularisation
- After you apply for regularisation our staff will inspect the work.
- This may mean exposing parts of the construction.
- If the work is found to be deficient in any way, you must do additional work to make it comply with regulations.

Apply for regularisation
After you complete your application:
- We will send you an email confirmation with your reference number, after we receive your application.
- You’ll be given the name and contact details of your site inspector while we process your application.
