Downham Centenary Grants

February 2025 will mark 100 years since the first families moved into their homes on the newly built Cottage Estate in Downham. To celebrate this important moment in Downham and Lewisham’s history, Lewisham Council are providing grants for events or activities taking place at the beginning of the Centenary year.

Do you have an idea for an event or activity that will bring Downham communities together, share stories of Downham’s history, or welcome in the next 100 years? Apply for a grant!

This funding is part of UK Shared Prosperity Fund and is allocated to supporting community engagement and meaningful volunteering opportunities. All funded activities will need to engage a minimum of 5 volunteers. Funded activities will need to take place between January 2025 and March 2025

The total size of the Downham grant funding pot is
£5,000. We want to be flexible with our funding to respond to community need. Because of this, we have not set a maximum amount you can apply for. However, if you plan to apply for a high proportion of the available funds (£2,000-£5,000), we expect you to demonstrate a very strong alignment with our funding criteria.

Deadline for applications is 11.59pm Sunday 10 November.

Successful applicants will be informed by Friday 15 November.
