Remembrance Sunday 2023
Remembrance Sunday civic service and parade at Lewisham War Memorial
Lewisham’s civic service and parade will take place on Sunday 12 November at Lewisham War Memorial, Lewisham High Street (directly opposite Lewisham Hospital).
A parade, led by Sergeant Major Stephen Bradley of 221 Field Squadron will proceed along Lewisham High Street to the War Memorial. A service, led by Father Steve Hall of St Mary’s Church with contributions from other faith leaders and civic dignitaries, will commence at 10.55am until approximately 11.40am.
Traffic will be stopped for a two minute silence at 11am.
Lewisham residents are welcome to attend the service. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive at the Lewisham War Memorial from 10.30am.
Remembrance Sunday civic service at Deptford War Memorial
A second service will take place at the Deptford War Memorial on the corner of Lewisham Way and Upper Brockley Road.
A service, led by Reverend Chris Hanning with contributions from other faith leaders and civic dignitaries, will commence at 10.55am until approximately 11.40am.
Traffic will be stopped for a two minute silence at 11am.
Lewisham residents are welcome to attend the service. Both services will be held outdoors so residents who wish to attend should dress warmly and be prepared for the weather.
