Engagement framework

This page contains detailed information about the elements of our community engagement framework.

We are currently consulting on the new framework and strategy for resident engagement.

Your views and experience are essential in helping to improve and shape the services we offer residents. There are many ways you can get involved in making a difference in how we work.

Resident Panels

Resident Panels focus on a particular service area and provide a resident's perspective on these services. There are currently three resident panels for repairs, procurement, and community investment. All residents can apply to be on a panel, and training may be available if required.

Partnerships

Partners include the Albany, contractors, suppliers, community groups and many more. We work with partners to fundraise and deliver projects for residents. This includes delivering on social value contributions and ensuring the fulfilment of contract requirements.

Building safety

Residents will work with our Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and Building Safety teams to ensure residents are engaged with building safety management.

Tenants and Residents Associations (TRAs)

Tenants and Residents' Associations are groups established by residents. You can join your TRA to meet other residents and discuss issues related to your estate. TRAs liaise with Housing Officers to find solutions and promote engagement opportunities.

Workshops

We'll hold one-off sessions, online and in person, for all residents and stakeholders to come together, discuss and develop an action plan on how to approach important issues and services. Residents and stakeholders can suggest workshop topics.

Online sounding board

An online sounding board includes surveys and forums where we seek feedback on specific areas of housing or approaches to engagement. Feedback from the online sounding board helps us shape services.

Panels, forums and boards we support

Service and Performance Panel

Comprised of residents, Tenants & Residents Association (TRA) representatives, and senior Lewisham Council Housing staff, this panel supports Lewisham Council by providing residents with input on matters such as performance and overseeing the community engagement framework.

Tenants and Resident Association (TRAs) Chairs forum

We hold quarterly meetings for Chairs of TRAs to come together to share their experiences and ask senior leaders questions. The agenda for these meetings is set by the TRAs in partnership with the independent Chair.

Leasehold forum

Our Homeownership team oversees the leasehold forum, which provides an opportunity for leaseholders to give feedback.

Housing Management Board

This board is made up of the Chair of the service and performance panel and the Chair of the resident scrutiny panel. All senior leaders, including Directors and the Executive Director, sit on this board. It is chaired by Lewisham Council’s Cabinet member for housing and homelessness, who can make decisions and provide a link to the Council’s Housing Select Committee.

Tenant Satisfaction measures, consumer standards and regulation

The Regulator of Social Housing has set out new tenant satisfaction measures (TSMs) to ensure all housing provider’s services are measured with a focus on the resident experience.

The TSMs are designed to see how well landlords are doing at keeping properties in good repair, maintaining building safety, respectful and helpful engagement, effective handling of complaints and responsible neighbourhood management.

You can find more information about them on the Governments website

If you’d like to be involved in how we measure and report on these please get in touch.
