Cornmill Gardens and River Mill Park

Cornmill Gardens is an open space in Lewisham Town Centre overlooked by River Mill Park.

The gardens provide residents with access to the River Ravensbourne, which has been released from its concrete walls.

Situated just off Loampit Vale, this is the first of three new open spaces planned for Lewisham Town Centre.

Since it opened, Cornmill Gardens has been recognised in a number of national design and landscaping awards.

The new river banks were planted with a selection of native plans and trees, and there are signs of naturally occurring native plants establishing themselves.

Families of mallards and moorhens have made their homes along this stretch of the river.

River Mill Park

River Mill Park replaced the old Sundermead estate which was demolished for the redevelopment of Loampit Vale.
