Abandoned vehicles

If a vehicle is parked legally it can remain on the road as long as it is taxed. If you suspect a vehicle that hasn’t been moved for a significant period of time has been abandoned then you can report it to us online.

Abandoned vehicles on private or housing land should be reported directly by the private landlord or managing agent.

Reporting a vehicle you think is abandoned

Report an abandoned vehicle using the online form on this page. We will ask you for:

• the vehicle registration number
• vehicle type, make, model and colour
• location of the vehicle

What happens next

Following a report, we will investigate the vehicle and, where appropriate, arrange for the vehicle to be removed.
