Abandoned vehicles
If you notice a vehicle that is damaged or burnt out or has no car tax, it is likely that the vehicle has been abandoned.
If a vehicle is parked legally it can remain on the road as long as it is taxed. If you suspect a vehicle that hasn’t been moved for a significant period of time has been abandoned then you can report it to us online.
Reporting a vehicle you think is abandoned
Report an abandoned vehicle using the online form on this page. We will ask you for:
- the vehicle registration number
- vehicle type, make, model and colour
- location of the vehicle
What happens next
Following a report, we will investigate the vehicle and, where appropriate, arrange for the vehicle to be removed.
