Adventure playgrounds

Discover our five adventure playgrounds where you can play on rope swings and climbing frames, and opportunities to meet and mix with other children and young people.
Dumps Adventure Playground

The Dumps is a safe and comfortable place for young people to enjoy.

As well as fun indoor facilities, the outside features a large wooden outdoor play structure built on three levels, featuring:

  • ramps
  • walkways
  • swings rope bridges, and hideaways
  • large playing fields

They are all linked and make a great place for a game of tag.

Term-time opening hours

Wednesday

  • 3.15pm to 5.45pm (ages 8-19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)

Saturday

  • 11.15pm to 1.45pm (ages 8-19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)

Home Park Adventure Playground

There's lots to do at Home Park, which is sure to keep young people active and entertained. A large outdoor play structure features a trampette, walkways and a triple decker play area. There's also a sports court for basketball, netball and football games. Other activities include arts and crafts, archery and cricket.

Wednesday

  • 3.30pm to 6pm, ( ages 8 to 19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)

Thursday 

  • 1.15pm to 3.45pm ( ages 8-19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)

Honor Oak Adventure Playground

A fantastic, fully staffed adventure playground offers a safe environment for young people to enjoy adventurous play, make new friends, and have fun on the wooden structures. You can join in on the rope swings and rope bridges, or head indoors for a game of table tennis, as well as arts and crafts activities.

Term-time opening hours

Tuesday 

  • 3.30pm - 6pm, (ages 8 to 19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)

Friday

  • 3.30pm - 6pm (ages 8-19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities) 

Some activities may carry a small charge (usually off-site ones).

Ladywell Fields Adventure Playground

Join in with regular activities such as outdoor climbing frame and swings, table tennis, workshops, arts and crafts, gaming, pool.

The Richard MacVicar Adventure Playground

Discover and enjoy a physically challenging yet safe wooden outdoor multi-level structure featuring a variety of unique swings. Additionally, there is an indoor area equipped with facilities for playing pool, table tennis, foosball, and board games. You can also find a multimedia space for playing on the PS5 or Nintendo Switch, watching films, engaging in arts and crafts activities, and a mini indoor football pitch.

Monday

Tuesday 

  • 3.30pm to 6pm, Adventure play/youth club (ages 8-19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)
  • 6.10pm to 8.45pm, Adventure play/youth club (ages 8-19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)

Thursday

  • 10am to 5.30pm, REZON8 – Free Recording Sessions, The Albany, (ages 14-25)
  • 3.30pm to 6pm, Adventure play/youth club (ages 8-19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)
  • 6.15pm to 8.45pm, Adventure play/youth club (ages 8-19 and up to 25 for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities)
