Holiday activities and food programme

Free activities and lunches for children and young people aged 4 to 16 (in receipt of benefit-related Free School Meals).

We’re delighted to share that we've been awarded funding to continue delivering the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme for another 3 years.

This continued investment from the Department for Education is fantastic news and testament to the impact HAF has had in supporting children, young people, and families during school holidays.

As part of our wider Youth Offer, HAF plays a vital role in our commitment to providing more opportunities for children and young people to thrive, through a diverse range of fun-packed activities including arts, crafts, sport and trips that will run throughout the School Easter, summer and Christmas holidays.

There will be free activities and lunches for children and young people who are: 

  • aged 4 to 16 years (reception to year 11)
  • in receipt of benefit-related Free School Meals

Each club will provide:

  • a wide range of exciting activities to suit different ages and personalities
  • fun physical activity sessions
  • free, nutritious, tasty food

Ball For All

Ages: 10-16

Activities: Give your child a day bursting with adventure, creativity, and nonstop fun. From outdoor sport on the brand new MUGA, board games, and computer pool, table tennis ter games, there’s something exciting at every turn. They’ll get stuck into cooking, unleash imagination with arts and crafts, and make new friends in a warm, safe space where they can truly shine.

SEND support: At present, we are unable to offer 1‑to‑1 SEND support. We are, however, able to accommodate children with low‑level or mild additional needs, ensuring they can participate safely and appropriately within the structure of our programme.

SEND support: Angelface Holiday Club is able to support children with a range of mild to moderate additional needs within our mainstream holiday provision. We provide a nurturing environment, small group activities, visual support where appropriate, flexible approaches to participation and opportunities for both structured and child-led play. Our team works closely with parents and carers prior to attendance to understand individual needs and identify any reasonable adjustments that can be made to support inclusion.

Kids Vogue Stars

SEND support: We will support the children to make new friends, to explore and engage in a range of activities. The children can go with their own interests and play in a free flow environment. We are a large play scheme with a large area to play in. 

Kids Vogue Stars - SEND

 Ages: 5-12

Activities: This playscheme is designed for children with SEND that have an EHCP where they may need a calmer environment than your average play scheme. This play scheme will allow children to develop their independence through play and exploration with a 1:4 staff ratio. We have sports games, arts and crafts, Lego, sharing games, sensory play, dancing, toys and lots of fun. Our experienced and specialised staff will support children to socialise and interact in a nurturing environment and will create opportunities through play focusing on each child's individual interests. This venue has a climbing frame, slide, football pitch, play equipment, a chill out room and a calming space for inside activities and games. The venue has fobbed doors for security.

SEND support: We offer a nurturing and safe environment for children who have EHCP’s (or are in the process of) who need a smaller and calmer setting. We offer the children 1:4 adult support. Our staff are experienced and highly trained in working with children with SEND. The venue offers a large classroom with activities, toys, Lego, sensory toys and arts and crafts. We have access to the playground that has basketball hoops, a football pitch, a climbing frame and slide and an outdoor gym. We also have access to a calming room if needed. 

Legends Learning Centre

Down's Friendship & Creativity Group (DFCG) – SEND provision

SEND support: We exist to support CYP with Down Syndrome, though we offer an all-inclusive provision for the HAF Program. We support those with mild to moderate LD, not challenging behaviours. Whatever the diagnosis CYP must be independent with personal care and eating. We are unable to support complex needs as the environment is not suitable, e.g.: if 2:1 support is needed, if sensory space is needed, if they require a facility that has the resources & sufficient staff. 

Junior Adventures Group

Activities: Every day, your child will immerse themselves in 180 minutes of action-packed sports coaching, exceeding the recommended daily activity guidelines from Public Health England. Our engaging sessions are rooted in the FA’s Four Corner Model, which supports well-rounded development in key areas: technical skills, psychological understanding, physical fitness, and social interaction. This holistic approach ensures your child develops as an athlete and flourishes as a well-rounded individual.

SEND support: We are not a specialist SEND provider and cannot offer intensive one-to-one support. We can accommodate children with mild additional needs (for example some autistic traits or ADHD) through reasonable adjustments in group activities. If a child requires constant one-to-one support, they would not be suitable for our program. Please contact us to discuss specific needs.

TAS - The Anchor SEND friendly Independent Specialist School – SEND provision

Activities: All children will need to have an EHCP. You child will get 1:1 support from our experienced staff who works with children with SEND. We will have different activities set up based on the children's interest. We have a ball pit room, sensory room, a sensory pod, outdoor play area and rooms with interactive screens.

SEND support: This is our 3rd HAF with Lewisham, and we are proud to offer our service to support children with SEND offering 1:1support and giving parents some well needed respite. We will have some planned activities, but we will allow the children to have free play.

Activities: Roller Quad Camp, build strong skating foundations through fun games, engaging activities, and structured learning

  • Key skating fundamentals including balance, control, coordination, stopping techniques, and basic skating manoeuvres

SEND support: We can support children who are able to participate safely within a group environment and who may benefit from clear instructions, demonstrations, encouragement, routine, and minor adaptations to activities. Coaches are available to provide general guidance and support as part of the wider group.

Kender Primary School

Activities: This summer club we will be offering an active programme of sports, dance, games, free play and forest school activities. We are also planning a few trips to local parks and play spaces.

SEND support: We can support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with: ASD and ADHD, Mild to moderate learning disabilities, Sensory processing differences, Physical disabilities, where our site and activities are accessible to the child's individual needs, Mild to moderate anxiety or emotional regulation difficulties.

How to book activities

Families who receive benefit related free school meals will receive a code via email or text message.

This code lets you access a webpage with details of all activities and book your child’s space. Make sure you follow the link and instructions in the message.

Each code is unique to each family. Families with more than one child will get a code for each child.

If you haven’t received a HAF code and your child receives, benefit related free school meals, or if you require any support with bookings, contact HAF Programme

We also have a number of places available on a first come, first serve basis for parents and carers who are experiencing hardship, but whose children do not receive free school meals. Email the team on the email address above if you’d like to apply for one of these places:
