Housing Estates Permits

Information on resident and visitor parking permits for residents who live on a housing estate.

What is changing

Following a comprehensive review of current parking enforcement on Council-owned housing estates, the Council recommended the introduction of Traffic Management Orders (TMOs) to enforce parking restrictions on housing estates, where enforced parking is required.

On 14 July 2021, subject to public consultation, Mayor and Cabinet approved the introduction of new parking enforcement arrangements on 33 housing estate sites. The public consultation ran from 7 September to 12 October 2021.

The new parking enforcement will enable housing estate residents to park close to their homes by restricting the availability of spaces to other road users and only allowing permit holders to utilise the parking provision. For some estates, this will include new facilities on housing sites, such as the provision of cycle hangers and Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCPs), if applicable.

For the current housing estate parking sites that are moving to the new TMO arrangements, the cost of permits will remain unchanged in the first year after introduction. A review of the parking charges will be undertaken within the first year following implementation of the new TMO arrangements.

Resident Permits

If you already have a Resident Permit with Lewisham Homes, it will continue to be valid for the remaining duration.

When your current permit expires, you will need to purchase a new permit using the Council’s online parking permit system.

If you have obtained permits or vouchers using this system before, you can log in.

If you have not previously used the system, you will need to create an account.

We will send reminder letters to all Housing Estate Resident Permit holders prior to your permit expiring.

If you have a current permit for a Brockley Housing Estate, you will need to purchase a new permit using the online parking permit system from 31 December 2021.

Blue Badge Holders

In line with Lewisham’s boroughwide policy Blue Badge holding residents can apply for a free Housing Estate Resident Permit for the estate in which they live.

Visitor Permits

If you have purchased an annual Visitor Permit, this will be valid until the expiry date. If you have purchased a book of daily permits, they will be valid until they have been used.

After this, you will need to purchase any future Visitor Permits by calling 020 8787 5397, emailing lewishamparkingpermits@nslservices.co.uk or writing to us at the following address:
