Home composting
We are experiencing delays with our orange bag deliveries due to supply issues. Meanwhile please use black bags for your general waste disposal until the orange bags are delivered.
Why compost?
Composting food scraps helps to reduce the amount of waste sent with your household rubbish to the incinerator. It's also an easy way to transform both kitchen and garden waste into valuable, nutrient-rich food for your garden. Composting is also a low cost way to improve the soil in your garden. Buy a home compost a bin
You can order a compost bin for £10.
The bin is 220 litres, 90cm tall and 74cm in diameter.
Where to keep it
The best location for a compost bin is under shelter, in partial or full shade, to avoid extremes of temperature and moisture. To deter rats, make sure the bin's not up against a boundary wall or fence, and the lid is fitted securely.
