Halifax Street conservation area

Information about the Halifax Street conservation area.

Designated in 1972, this small area consists mainly of one street comprising a group of tightly-knit mid 19th century semi-detached houses set behind small front gardens.

The style is simple. The houses are flat-fronted with little ornamentation using London stock brick, with slate roofs and timber sash windows. The development is well preserved and the area derives its special interest of the semi-rural vernacular character of the street which is unique in the borough.
