Volunteering

We work with community organisations, and resident groups on various projects, including gardening, environmental and projects for young people.

We support four food aid organisations that are based on Lewisham council managed estates:

Evelyn Community Store (Evelyn Community Centre), Feed the Hill Social Supermarket (New Cross Road), Sydenham Community Supermarket (Kelvin Grove) and Rehoboth Community Outreach Club (Hazel Grove).

They offer weekly food and other essentials to those who are struggling to make ends meet. They organise specific days for residents to come and collect food, and also provide delivery services for those who are unable to visit the collection sites.

These food organisations are often in need of volunteers – even if you can offer just one or two hours of your time, that will be appreciated. Tasks vary but include transporting surplus food and food deliveries (a normal car/cargo bike is fine, no van is required if you don’t have one), sorting out surplus food deliveries on-site and helping members shop on shopping days.

If you’re unable to commit to supporting the food stores, but are keen to volunteer get in touch with us and we can work together to understand what you’d like to do, and any training requirements.
