What to do in an emergency

In an emergency always call 999. Lewisham SAIL Connections is not an emergency service.

About the service

Lewisham SAIL Connections is a service delivered by Age UK Lewisham and Southwark.

It is a single point of contact with the various services and organisations in Lewisham that help older people stay safe and independent.

Who the service is for

People aged 60+ who need help with:

  • health and wellbeing

  • mental resilience

  • social inclusion and decreased isolation

  • financial inclusion

  • fire safety and wider home security issues

  • personal safety and security.

Who can make a referral

People who can make a referral include:

  • professionals working with older people

  • relatives and friends of older people

  • people aged 60+ can refer themselves.

How to refer

You refer by:

  • downloading or printing the checklist below
  • completing the checklist, ticking the boxes next to the services required
  • returning the checklist to Lewisham SAIL Connections by email or post using the contact details below.

​What happens next?

  • The SAIL Coordinator from the Age UK Lewisham and Southwark office will call you and let you know that they have received your checklist.

  • They will confirm which services you need and might ask for some more details.

  • They can also answer your questions.

  • The SAIL Coordinator will then send a copy of your checklist to the local organisations and services you have requested support from.

  • Within six weeks, these services will get in touch with you by phone or letter asking how they can help.
