Regulatory compliance

We take the safety, quality, and wellbeing of residents very seriously. That’s why we work hard to make sure that all our care services meet important rules and standards.

This is called regulatory compliance — making sure services follow the law, protect people’s rights, and meet the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.

How we support compliance

We have a dedicated Service Improvement and Assurance Team who work together to help care providers stay on track.

Our team includes managers, leads, and officers who bring different skills and experience to support services.

We help services by

  • giving clear advice and guidance about what the rules are
  • checking services regularly to make sure they meet the standards
  • offering support and advice when improvements are needed
  • sharing good examples to help services learn and grow

If services need help meeting their responsibilities, we work closely with them to create clear action plans and provide extra support where needed.

Why regulatory compliance matters

When services follow the rules properly, people are safer, happier, and better cared for.

It also helps families and carers feel more confident in the support their loved ones receive.

We believe that great care starts with strong foundations — and by helping services stay compliant, we help build trust, improve quality, and protect people’s rights.

Our commitment is to make sure every service in Lewisham not only meets the rules but provides excellent care that people can rely on.
