Quality assurance

We want everyone to feel confident that the care and support they receive is safe, high quality, and centred around their needs. One way we do this is through quality assurance.

At Lewisham Adult Social Care, we want everyone to feel confident that the care and support they receive is safe, high quality, and centred around their needs. One way we do this is through quality assurance.

Quality assurance means checking that services are doing the right things - and doing them well.

It’s about making sure that care providers follow the rules set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and deliver support that people can trust.

How we check quality

We use lots of different ways to make sure services are meeting high standards:

Regular monitoring

We collect information about how services are doing and spot any early signs of problems.

Feedback from people

We listen to people who use services, their families, and carers.

Their experiences are a vital part of how we judge quality.

Service reviews and visits

We visit services to see how they work, talk to staff and service users, and look at how they keep people safe and happy.

Action plans

If a service needs to improve, we work with them to create a clear action plan.

We then check closely to make sure improvements are made.

Why quality assurance matters

Checking services regularly helps to catch any problems early and gives providers the chance to make improvements before things go wrong.

It also celebrates what is working well, encouraging services to keep doing great work.

For people using services, quality assurance means

  • feeling safe and respected
  • receiving care that meets their needs
  • being able to speak up and be listened to

We believe everyone deserves the best possible care.

Through strong quality assurance, we help to make that happen in Lewisham.
