How the Proud to Care Lewisham job pool work

Lewisham Council and local care providers work together recruiting from a central talent pool. Once you have registered your interest to join to jobs pool you will be contacted by a member of our Proud to Care team.

The team will:

  • Talk to you about what it is like to work in the care sector
  • Discuss types of roles available and what days and hours you are looking to work
  • Carry out pre-employment checks
  • Where needed, support you to access free training
  • Match you to suitable local job opportunities



What are we looking for?

We are looking for people to provide person-centred care and support to adults in Lewisham. Maximising their wellbeing and ensuring that they can live as independently as possible in the community.


Our workers support people in their homes (or where they're living at the time) with personal care and provide emotional support in line with the residents' care plan, helping them to feel connected to their community, be active and have purpose in life.

We are mainly looking for people who have the right values and attitude, even those with no experience in the care sector can apply as all training will be provided.
