Admissions criteria for secondary schools
If there are more applications to a school than places available, we use the schools' admissions policy to decide which children qualify for a place.

Late Preference Changes
You may be aware that a number of selection tests for grammar school places, and assessment tests at schools that admit 10% of their intake in a specialist subject such as music or sport, are taking place later in the first term of the academic year because of the COVID-19 outbreak and results will not be available until after 31 October 2020.
Parents who have applied for a grammar school place as well as those who have applied for a specialism place, for example music at Prendergast or Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College or sport at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Knights Academy, have been allowed to change 'on time preferences' up until 10 December 2020. Changes cannot be made after this date. Applicants wishing to change their preference will need to provide documentary proof that their child took the relevant selection test or assessment and has received a result.
