Planned improvement works at Brockley Rise Centre

Adult Learning Lewisham have successfully bid for funding from the Greater London Authority (GLA) to transform the ground floor of the Brockley Rise adult education centre.

We intend to create an accessible and welcoming centre for the whole community with a modern new entrance, an updated café, a new reception area, a dedicated advice and guidance space and a new exhibition space.

Although we had confirmation that our bid was successful in the 2020 summer term, the project delivery has been delayed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The building work is due to begin in August 2021 and will be complete by January 2022.

When completed, the new ground floor will enrich the experience of visiting the centre for our community. We will be asking for your opinion on features and colour schemes for the final design with the opportunity to visit an exhibition, either online or at the Brockley Rise centre, and vote for your choice prior to the start of the building works.

This is the first opportunity we have had in many years to make changes to Brockley Rise Centre. This development will enable us to celebrate our creativity and diversity. This page will be updated regularly. There will soon be more information about the exhibition, the voting, and other news about the project.
