Site inspections for your building project

It is your responsibility to ensure we inspect your building project at the relevant key stages.

Typical stages include:

  • any unusual elements
  • concrete oversite 
  • commencement of work
  • completion of building 
  • damp-proof course 
  • drains inspection 
  • drains testing
  • excavation 
  • foundations 
  • insulation 
  • site hardcore
  • occupation of building 

Additional inspections may be required at the discretion of your building control inspector to suit the project.

Request a site inspection by phone

To request an inspection by telephone, call us on 020 8314 8233, Monday to Friday, 9-11am and 3-5pm.

Calls requesting an inspection for the following day will normally be accepted if they are received by 4pm. 

Information we need:

  • the application reference
  • the site address
  • what needs to be inspected
  • preferred date of visit
  • preference of morning or afternoon visit
  • your name and contact phone number

Urgent inspections

Officers may be called out at any time during working hours if urgent help is required at another site, or they have to attend to a dangerous structure. In these circumstances we will do our best to return the same day or reschedule a visit for the next working day.
