Where a premises is being built or is about to be constructed or substantially altered for the purpose of being used for one or more of the licensable activities, an application can be made for a Provisional Statement, in order to establish whether a Premises Licence is likely to be granted.
Potential scam targeting premises license holders - person impersonating licensing officer
We've received reports of an individual impersonating a Licensing Officer and contacting businesses to request payments.
Lewisham Council licensing officers will never request cash payments under any circumstances. Council officers will not provide Council bank account details over the telephone or ask for payments to be made to personal accounts.
If you receive any suspicious calls, requests for payment, or communications claiming to be from the Licensing Team, please do not make any payment. Email our licensing team on licensing@lewisham.gov.uk to verify the request. We encourage all licence holders to remain vigilant and report any suspected fraudulent activity.
