Requests for disabled parking bays

We are experiencing a large volume of applications. Our team will be in contact with you regarding your application as soon as it has been reviewed. We appreciate your patience whilst we assess your application

Applying online

If you are a Lewisham resident, you can apply for a Blue Badge online. Paper applications will not be accepted.

By applying online you will save time and money because you can upload your photo and proof of identity and address, instead of posting them.

How to apply online if you don’t have a computer or scanner

You do not need a computer to apply online. You can use a smart phone with a camera and internet connection. If you do not have one of these devices or if you are not able to do this yourself, please ask a family member or friend to help you. Please follow the current COVID-19 restrictions if you do this.

Eligibility

Check if you are eligible for a Blue Badge.

What to do if you can't attend a mobility assessment

If you have been asked to come to a mobility assessment and you can't attend, you should complete an enquiry form and explain why you can't come to the appointment. You should provide your telephone number so we can call you to discuss the matter.

Renewing your Blue Badge

You are responsible for renewing your Blue Badge in good time, so that you can be issued with a new badge before your current one expires.

Will my Blue Badge be renewed automatically?

We are unable to automatically reissue badges. You will need to complete a new form online and provide a new photo, proof of address and eligibility. All of which can be uploaded to your application.

If your existing badge was issued by us, we will endeavour to send you a reminder approximately 10 weeks before it expires, this could be in the form of an email, SMS message or letter. You will be reminded that you can apply for a new badge online.

You can begin an application for renewal before you get your reminder. Please remember to include the evidence requested if you don’t do this, your application might be closed.

My Blue Badge is due for renewal very soon but my entitlement is changing and I am still waiting for my personal independence payment decision letter. Can I still renew my Blue Badge?

Yes, we are able to offer you a mobility assessment with an expert assessor but face-to-face assessments are currently suspended due to COVID-19.

Administration fee

There is now a £10 administration fee levied on applications for Blue Badges. This applies to all new applications, as well as renewals and replacements for existing Blue Badge users.

How to pay the administration charge

You can submit your payment details when you apply, or you can wait until we have confirmed your entitlement.

When we confirm your entitlement, we will send you a text, email or letter with payment instructions. You can pay by credit or debit card. We do not accept cash or cheques, or take payments over the phone or in person.
