How to reply or renew online, or send us a question.
Requests for disabled parking bays

We are experiencing a large volume of applications. Our team will be in contact with you regarding your application as soon as it has been reviewed. We appreciate your patience whilst we assess your application

Beware online scams

There are a number of third-party websites claiming to process Blue Badge applications for £50. You should avoid these websites and use our official application form. If you are eligible for a Blue Badge, it will only cost you £10. If you have had a negative experience with one of these scams, you can contact the Citizens Advice Bureau for support.

Applying online

If you are a Lewisham resident, you can apply for a Blue Badge online. We do not have paper applications.

Applying online saves time and money because you can upload a digital photograph along with photos of your proof of identity, address and evidence of your entitlement, instead of posting them.

How to apply online if you don’t have a computer or scanner

You do not need a computer to apply online. You can use a smart phone or tablet with a camera. If you do not have one of these devices or if you are not able to do this yourself, please ask a family member or friend to help you.

Eligibility

What to do if you can't attend a mobility assessment

If you have been asked to come to a mobility assessment and you can't attend, you should complete an enquiry form and explain why you can't come to the appointment. You should provide your telephone number so we can call you to discuss the matter.

Expiring badges

You are responsible for reapplying for a new Blue Badge. You should ensure you apply in good time so that a new badge is issued before your current one expires. This is subject to you remaining entitled to this concession.

Will my Blue Badge be renewed automatically?

No, badges are not renewed. You must complete a new application form online and provide a new photo, proof of address and eligibility. All of which can be uploaded to your application.

If your existing badge was issued by us, we will endeavour to send you a reminder approximately 12 weeks before it expires, this will be in the form of an email. Please be sure to keep your email details up to date and to check your junk/spam box regularly.

You will be required to apply for a new badge online. Please remember to include the evidence requested if you don’t do this, your application might be closed.

We cannot accept applications where your badge has more than three months left before it expires.

My Blue Badge is due to expire soon but I am still waiting for my personal independence payment decision letter. Can I still reapply for a new Blue Badge?

Yes, you can apply using one of the ‘subject to further assessment’ criteria and this may result in us asking you to attend a face-to-face assessment with our expert assessor.

Administration fee

There is a £10 administration for all successful Blue Badge applications and replacements.

How to pay the administration charge

You can submit your payment details when you apply, or you can wait until we have confirmed your entitlement.

When we confirm your entitlement, we will send you an email or letter with payment instructions. You can pay by credit or debit card. We do not accept cash or cheques or take payments over the phone or in person.

Replacements

If you request a replacement badge due to yours being lost, stolen or damaged we will request some additional information from you and the return of damaged badges before the request is approved.

  • if your badge has been stolen you should get a crime reference number from the police as this will need to be added to the replacement request.
  • if you report your badge has been damaged you will be expected to return this to the team before a replacement is approved.
  • to get a replacement badge because yours has been lost, stolen or worn please complete the form and clearly state that why you require a replacement.
  • if approved you will be sent a request to pay a £10 administration fee by debit or credit card.
  • all badges reported as lost, stolen or damaged will immediately be cancelled. Should they then be found being displayed in a vehicle the individual may be subject to a fine or prosecution.
