Disabled resident parking permits

Residents with Lewisham-issued Blue Badges can apply for or renew a disabled resident parking permit.
Requests for disabled parking bays

We are experiencing a large volume of applications. Our team will be in contact with you regarding your application as soon as it has been reviewed. We appreciate your patience whilst we assess your application

Beware online scams

There are a number of third-party websites claiming to process Blue Badge applications for £50. You should avoid these websites and use our official application form. If you are eligible for a Blue Badge, it will only cost you £10. If you have had a negative experience with one of these scams, you can contact the Citizens Advice Bureau for support.

Apply for or renew a disabled resident permit online.

A disabled resident parking permit allows you to park in any resident, dual or triple use bay across the borough. Vehicles need to be registered at the home address of the Lewisham-issued Blue Badge holder. Disabled residents parking permits are free and valid for 12 months.

Eligibility for a disabled resident parking permit

You must:

  • be a Lewisham resident
  • have a Lewisham-issued Blue Badge
  • have a vehicle registered to the Lewisham-issued Blue Badge holder’s address

There can only be one vehicle registered per Blue Badge for this permit.

Disabled resident permits do not permit individuals to park in disabled bays, unless the individual parking holds a Blue Badge.

Before you apply

What you need to apply:

  1. an email address and a telephone number
  2. your vehicle registration number
  3. motor Insurance certificate (where relevant)
  4. your Lewisham-issued Blue Badge, front and back

You may also be asked to provide a proof of residency and/or vehicle ownership if we cannot confirm your residency and vehicle information automatically. We will accept scanned copies or photos of supporting documents.

Verification checks will be carried out on the information provided. All parking permits are now 'paperless'. Your details will be registered electronically, and Civil Enforcement Officers will use an electronic reader to confirm your vehicle is registered with a disabled resident parking permit.

Do not park in a residents’ bay unless you receive an email confirming that you have been approved for an exemption permit. If you do, you may get a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
