Lewisham Family Hubs
Activities at the Evelyn Centre on Grove Street will no longer be taking place. From now on, they will move to our nearby Family Hubs in Deptford (Alverton Street) and Honor Oak (Turnham Road).
What is a Family Hub?
Lewisham's Family Hubs are a new way of bringing together the advice and support a family may need, from pregnancy through to young people turning 19 (or 25 if they SEND).
The Hubs will provide space to access support from professionals such as early years practitioners, health visitors, midwives, speech and language therapists and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) advisors. We also welcome people from the community to set up their own groups or activities within Family Hub buildings.
Who can access a Family Hub?
Hubs provide services to any family, child or young person who needs them.
You can come along for a ‘stay and play’ session or attend more focused courses or groups on a wide range of subjects, or just come along to talk to one of our staff. Our doors are open to everyone, and we will make sure you are directed to the support you need.
Examples of services on offer
The Hubs offer a wide range of services, for example:
- support for parents with managing finances and getting back into work or training
- youth activities for young people aged 11 to 19
- help with baby and child development
- a range of child and family health activities including dental advice and emotional wellbeing
