Patchwork techniques taster

On this fun and creative short course you will sample both hand & machine stitched patchwork techniques. These will include English Paper Piecing and Foundation Paper Piecing- one is a traditional technique which uses paper templates and only hand stitching to assemble the patchwork pieces. It is a completely portable & mindful craft that is now back on-trend! The other use paper and machine stitching to create quilting blocks with interesting shapes and designs, and these can be used in many different ways. You will also consider the use of colour, pattern and overall design impact, and look at basic quilting techniques. You will have the option to choose a simple project to work on such as a cushion cover or a small bag/purse, and any returning learners may want to continue to work on their ongoing projects
