What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
You will have studied at advance level and confident in your language skills. This course is strictly by tutor invitation.
Learning Goals:
To improve vocabulary in order to discuss more advance topics.
To develop the language skills of speaking and listening.
To be informed on various aspects of Italian culture.
To discuss matters of current affairs and news.
What teaching methods will the tutor use?
Group work, pair work, role play, practical worksheets, one-to-one support, listening, reading, speaking and writing exercises.
What assessment methods will the tutor use?
Initial assessment and continuous assessment with informal feedback.
Will extra work be required outside the class times?
Home study is recommended to consolidate what is taught in the sessions.
What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?
The tutor will discuss and recommend course material.
What do I need to bring to the first class?
You will need to have a note pad and writing utensils.

This course will provide participants with the knowledge and confidence to engage/ interact with fluent speakers of this MFL.
Additional information
This course is equivalent to the European Framework of languages (B1), and can provide learners with the basics needed to go on to study for more advanced courses. The tutor will advise you about further courses for progression. Note, this is a Full Cost Recovery (FCR) course, therefore no requirement for an Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
