Reflexology for the feet

Are you seeking enrichment for your existing skills? Or perhaps you would like to explore opportunities to relax and improve your well-being? The Reflexology for feet might be the course for you. On this 5 week course you will learn the basic skills to safely and effectively perform a reflexology technique to the feet, relieving tension, stimulating circulation and alleviating simple ailments. You will gain skills to enable you to give treatments to family and friends. You will gain an understanding of the terminology, reflexes and zone positions and where to find specific reflexes. You will also learn about the history of reflexology.

What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
None, this course is suitable for beginners or those who would like to refresh existing knowledge and build up on existing skills.

Learning Goals:
You will learn the underpinning principles of reflexology and explore conditions treated with feet reflexology.. You will be able to identify where the zones and reflexes are located in the feet. You will learn how to perform a reflexology treatment on family and friends. You will learn about how to recognise contraindications so that you will be able to perform the treatments safely

What teaching methods will the tutor use?
A range of teaching methods will be used to suit different learning styles, including formal teaching, classroom discussions, group activities, presentations, hands-on practical tasks with 1:1 feedback, etc.

What assessment methods will the tutor use?
You will be assessed in different ways to support your achievement and progress. Some of the assessment methods which will be used include: questions and answers, observation of practical work with 1:1 and peer feedback, group discussions, peer assessment and self-assessment.

Will extra work be required outside the class times?
Practising the sequences learnt in class on friends/family (optional). Practice is required to consolidate class work.

What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?
2 towels, wet wipes, cream, cotton pads, notepad and pen.

What do I need to bring to the first class?
2 towels, wet wipes, cream, cotton pads, notepad and pen. Please wear comfortable clothes you need to be able to remove your shoes and socks.

It is a non-accredited course, however you will be issued a certificate of attendance at the end of the course if 80% attendance is achieved.
