What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
No prior knowledge or experience is necessary to enrol on this course. Please be advised that some learners who enrol will have more experience than others. A basic level of English, Maths and computer skills would be useful.
Learning Goals:
To explore mark making and other basic drawing techniques.
To achieve a variety of quick sketches whilst building confidence.
To create experimental designs that inspire the outcome in the next print process you use.

What teaching methods will the tutor use?
The tutor will use a range of teaching methods during the course, including demonstration (both group and individual), one to one tuition, group work, progress assessments, observation, discussion and question and answer sessions.
What assessment methods will the tutor use?
The course tutor will use a range of methods to assess progress on the course. These may include observation, evaluation of work samples, question and answer sessions, photographs of projects to record achievement to be presented on our virtual learning environment (VLE).

What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?

What do I need to bring to the first class?
Working sketch book, drawing and writing equipment, notebook and images for inspiration. Don't forget to bring an apron, wear suitable clothing and enclosed footwear.
This is a practical class, ALL cannot be held responsible for any items including work, materials, tools etc left by the learner in our workrooms. This workspace is used for a varied course offer, please leave the space clean and tidy ensuring rubbish and personal belongings are removed. All drinks taken into the space must be kept in a re-useable lidded cup or container.

The department offers a wide variety of Design, Media, Music and Food courses at different levels. Information about these courses is available through the tutor, the Curriculum Leader or the ALL programme.
