Spend a day drawing while taking inspiraton from of a selection of German Expressionist artists. You will be encouraged to experiment with a range of materials and techniques before developing at least one of your ideas into a completed art work, with guidance from the tutor.

What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
No prior knowledge or experience is required to enrol on this course.

Learning Goals:
Find out about the artists and their techniques. Gain the confidence to use these techniques to make works of art. Produce a minimum of one basic composition. Identify and achieve a personal goal as discussed with your tutor.

What teaching methods will the tutor use?
The tutor will use a range of teaching methods during the class, including demonstration, one to one tuition, group work, observation, discussion and question and answer sessions.

What assessment methods will the tutor use?
The tutor will use a range of methods to assess your progress during the class. These may include observation, evaluation of your work and a question and answer session.

Will extra work be required outside the class times?
This is a one day class and does not require any additional work.

What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?
Please do not purchase anything before the class unless requested to do so. No liability can be accepted for expenses incurred for a class cancelled or altered at short notice.

What do I need to bring to the first class?
Materials will be provided but learners are welcome to bring their own if they like. This is a practical subject so please wear suitable clothing.

Options when finished
The department offers a wide variety of art, pottery and performing arts courses. Information about these courses is available through the tutor, the curriculum leader or the ALL programme.

Please note that ALL cannot be held responsible for any items including work, materials and tools left by the learner in our workrooms. Learners are expected to remove items at the end of the session.
