Brasted Close

Brasted Close was developed in partnership between the London Community Land Trust and the Council. It has delivered 11 permanently affordable sale homes. The properties were sold at a discounted rate, with the price of the property being linked to the average local wage rather than the usual market rate. This means that the homes were sold for approximately 50 per cent of the full market value.

When the properties are sold on, the price must remain proportionate to local wages, making these homes forever affordable. The homes are for people who have a local connection to Lewisham as a resident, working in the borough or both and in are need of affordable housing. Residents on the Council's Housing Register receive additional priority when applying.

Located in Sydenham, the development replaced a small garage site within the Brasted Close Estate providing an improved access for residents as well as the new homes.
