Catford Community Festival

Join us for Catford's summer community festival in the town centre from Friday 19 June until Sunday 28 June 2026. Expect art, music, comedy, street food and family-friendly  fun and a chance to find out what’s happening locally.

What to expect

A fun-filled day on Catford Broadway with family-friendly workshops, crafts, performances, funfair rides, performances and street food:

  • Catford Feast and Find Market: browse local makers and creatives offering handmade goods, art, accessories and food - from skincare and homeware to hot food and sweet treats, everything is produced by Lewisham-based traders, showcasing Catford’s independent businesses
  • Catford Community Festival Stage: enjoy a packed line-up of live music and dance celebrating Catford’s diversity - featuring DJs, choirs and cultural groups, the stage brings energy and summer vibes, showcasing local talent and international influences
  • My Aerial Home Workshops: try aerial-themed activities with Lewisham-based Aerial Circus School - family-friendly workshops introduce basic techniques in a fun and safe way, perfect for anyone keen to try something new and build confidence through movement; until 4pm; free
  • Timeless Palette face painting: for only £5, get colourful designs painted on your face
  • Rise 3x3 Basketball Pop-up: take part in fun basketball challenges and games suitable for all abilities - whether experienced or just giving it a go, join a lively mix of sport, music and culture hosted by Rise3x3; free; until 4pm 
  • Meet Your Lewisham: meet Council and community teams offering advice on housing, careers, health and more. Includes wellbeing support, interactive activities and practical guidance, helping residents access services and opportunities across Lewisham
  • Family-fun: free activities for children and young people along the Broadway

Magic in Your Hands: Friday Craft Club

Venue: Catford Library 
A fun, hands-on craft session for children aged 5 to 11 years, designed to spark creativity and imagination. Using simple techniques, kids can create something meaningful in a relaxed, supportive setting. All materials are provided. Children under 8 must be supervised at all times. Free.

Catford Arts Exhibition 

Date: Saturday 20 June to Sunday 28 June 
Venue: Catford House 
Drop in to see work from local artists linked to the Catford Art Trail. Featuring a mix of styles and media, the exhibition highlights south east London’s creative talent. Some artworks will be available to buy and offer a glimpse of the wider Art Trail. Free.

Summer Solstice Exhibition and Open Day 

Date: Saturday 20 June, 11am to 3pm 
Venue: Wildcat Wilderness 
Explore creative work from the Digging the Dirt project alongside family activities celebrating soil and nature. Visitors can explore the community greenspace, including a new woodland area, and take part in activities highlighting the natural world.

Headliners Father’s Day Comedy Gig

The Windrush Concert

Organ Recital

A recital showcasing the historic 1932 Compton organ and its rich orchestral sound. With classical works and a special collaboration with pianist Slava Antipov, the programme highlights the instrument’s versatility and power. Suitable for all ages. Free.

Youth Urban Arts Studio

Date: Thursday 25 June, 3 to 6pm 
Venue: Catford Broadway 
Hop on the Young Urban Arts Foundation Studio Bus and get creative with music, lyrics and podcasting. Work with the team across both decks of the bus - start upstairs developing ideas, writing bars or planning podcast content, then head downstairs to record, produce and bring your project to life.

Windrush Migrations

Date: Thursday 25 June, 7pm 
Venue: Broadway Theatre 
A powerful operatic evening exploring journey, resilience and belonging. Featuring Migrations and Windrush Opera, this performance brings stories of migration to life through music and storytelling, marking Windrush Day in a moving way. All ages welcome but recommended for 7+. Tickets £16.95.

Queer Self-Portrait Workshop

Stand Up for Lewisham Donation Hub

Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport. Limited paid and Blue Badge parking is available at nearby car parks.

Entry is free to the main festival, although some events are ticketed on the day and in the week leading up, so please check individual listings.
