Neighbourhood Health Creative Communication grant
What are neighbourhood health services and activities?
In Lewisham and across the country, the NHS is working closely with local councils, voluntary groups, and community organisations to develop and deliver neighbourhood health services, in line with the ambitions set out in the national 10 Year Health Plan. Learn more about neighbourhood health services.
Lewisham Council in partnership with South-East London Integrated Care Board (SEL ICB), is asking for applications to a Neighbourhood Health Creative Communication grant.
The aim of this Creative Communication grant is to:
- share clear and creative information about local health and prevention services and activities
- help people understand services like the Lifestyle Medicine Service, which is open to all Lewisham residents
- explain what “neighbourhood health” means in a simple way
- help people understand how they can get involved in their neighbourhood
- show how community groups and creative projects already support health in Lewisham
Grant details
A grant of £4,000 is available to support a creative project that brings the concept of neighbourhood health services and activities in Lewisham to life and clearly communicates it. The aim is to explore engaging and accessible ways to help residents better understand how neighbourhood health works and its role within the community.
Ideas that have come up previously:
- short film explaining Lewisham’s ‘lifestyles medicine’ service
- resource highlighting the community’s role in neighbourhood health
- a series of events exploring what neighbourhood health means to communities
- a visual design highlighting prevention activities that support neighbourhood health in Lewisham
These ideas are only starting points, and organisations are encouraged to think creatively and propose alternative approaches that effectively communicate the neighbourhood health model.
The organisation awarded the grant will receive detailed resources and will be connected with local neighbourhood health services to support the development and delivery of the project. This collaborative approach is intended to ensure the final output is both well-informed and meaningfully rooted in Lewisham’s existing health initiatives.
