Notification of Publication of London Borough of Lewisham’s Draft Statement of Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024 and Notification of the Public Inspection period

Notice is given that the publication of the full draft statement of accounts, including pension fund accounts, for the year ended 31 March 2024 has been published on this website. This can be downloaded from the link below.

In line with the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, the associated accounting records and related documents are made available for public inspection. The draft excluding the Narrative Statement and AGS has been available between 19 June to 25 July 2024. The full draft statement is now made available for public inspection between 26 July 2024 and 06 September 2024, this has been extended to be 30 working days from the day after publication of the full draft statement.

Notification of Delay in Publication of London Borough of Lewisham’s Audited Statement of Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024

In accordance with the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, Regulation 10, paragraph (2a), this is notification that there will be a delay in the publication of the Council’s Audited Statement of Accounts together with the certificate and opinion from the external auditors, and that the Council’s Audited Statement of Accounts will not meet the deadline of 30 September 2024.

Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015

Regulation 16(1) of The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 requires the Council to publish on its website a statement:

  • that the audit has been concluded
  • that the statement of accounts has been published
  • of the rights of inspection conferred in local government electors by section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the address at which, and the hours during which, those rights may be exercised

As the audit has not yet been concluded, the Council cannot yet issue this statement.

Notice is hereby given that the audited statement of accounts for 2022/23 has now been published on this website. The notice of conclusion of the audit will be added to this website alongside the audit certificate as soon as this is issued.
