Handknitting- learn to knit in the round

This 5-week course will introduce you to the really useful technique of circular knitting, also known as knitting in the round- and is suitable for complete newcomers to knitting, through to more experienced knitters who have never tried this method. Instead of using straight needles to knit flat items or garment pieces, you will use circular needles to create a seamless tubular shape which naturally lends itself to shaped or more fitted garments or accessories such as hats, socks & gloves and jumpers. Topics will include stitch patterns, experimenting with equipment & different yarns and pattern reading. Beginners will work on a smaller starter project such as a hat, and learners with more experience may want to start work on a larger or more complex personal project.

A notebook and pen, and an A4 wallet or small bag would be useful to keep your work in, and a phone/camera would be useful for recording ideas and techniques.

As above, and the tutor will discuss materials and personal course projects during the first session.
