What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
To have attended a computer introduction course and be able to turn on the computer log on, name and save files.There will be a pre-course assessment.
Learning Goals:
To demonstrate how to use ICT to find and select and save information.
To use multimedia hardware such as cameras and phones to collect information for your project.
To learn how to download digital video, digital camera images and sound files on to a PC.
To collect your work into a folder which you save on your USB memory stick and keep a A4 folder of your progress.
What teaching methods will the tutor use?
Demonstration, discussion, 1:1 support, peer group interaction, group work, peer appraisal, research
What assessment methods will the tutor use?
There will be an initial assessment and formative on-going assessment. Weekly and regular feedback from the tutor and review of your individual learning plan. Observation, verbal feedback, student self-assessment, peer group interaction, completion of ILPs, practical group activities and work sheets.
Will extra work be required outside the class times?
There is no work required outside the class time. However research and interest in your course subject in your own time between classes is beneficial to making progress.
What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?
Students should buy their own USB memory stick or other storage medium to save their work and take with them at the end of term.
What do I need to bring to the first class?
Please bring a pen, paper and A4 Folder.
