Parking permit charge increases
Our new parking permit charges will come into effect from 1 April 2024. Most are increasing by 7.7%, in line with inflation.
The permits and vouchers that will see a slight increase, include:
- Short-stay Parking (emissions-based vehicles & motorcycles)
- Resident Permits
- Motorcycle Parking charges
- Visitor Vouchers
- Hospital Health Permits
- Business Permits
- Business All-Zone
- Business Charity Permits
Please note we will be offering a 25% discount on last year’s Community Health Permit (formerly the Essential Health Services Permit) charges.
The euro 6 non-compliant surcharge has also increased from £70 to £75.

Pay and Display parking
Emissions-based charges for short-stay parking
If you park in a short-stay parking bay or car park, the amount you pay will be calculated based on your vehicles emissions.
The current charges per hour as of 1 April 2024 are set out below. Euro 6 non-compliant diesel vehicles pay a £2.15 surcharge on top of the diesel charge.

Resident parking permits
Parking permits prices have changed as of 1 April 2024. You can use our permit calculator tool to find out which band your vehicle is in and calculate the cost of a permit.

Disabled residents
Resident Blue Badge holders who drive a vehicle registered to their home address in Lewisham can apply for a Disabled Resident Parking Permit free of charge.
Disabled Residents Parking permits are free and valid for 12 months. They allow the resident with a valid Lewisham-issued blue badge to park in resident, dual and triple use bays within any CPZ across the borough.

Motorcycle parking
On 30 May 2022, motorcycle parking charges were implemented across the borough, based on how environmentally-friendly vehicles are. The charges are part of a series of measures to help reduce carbon emissions in the borough and to create a greener and cleaner Lewisham.
On 1 April 2024, motorcycle parking permits increased by 7.7%, in line with inflation.

Visitor parking permits
Visitor permit costs (from 1 April 2024)
- book of 10 one-hour vouchers: £19.40 (£1.94 per hour)
- per half-day (up to five hours): £4.85
- per day: £7.54
- per week: £32.31
Visitors vouchers can be purchased by residents without owning a resident parking permit, but we may still require proof of address to verify your details.

Parking for health workers
Hospital Health Permits are increasing by 7.7% in line with inflation while Community Health Permits (formerly known as the Essential Health Permit) is decreasing by 25% from last year.
