Help improve maternity services
The Maternity Services Liaison Committee
This is a group of parents, volunteers and health professionals who meet regularly to:
- make sure the services provided to pregnant and new parents are what they want and need.
- listen to the views of people who use the services and make sure they are passed on to the health professionals who provide them.
Who is on the committee?
Local women who are expecting a baby or who have had a baby recently.
Partners of women who have had a baby in the past three years
Members of other voluntary groups who support pregnant women such as the National Childbirth Trust
People who work for the public health team in Lewisham and NHS South East London
Healthcare professionals from Lewisham’s maternity unit and the local community
How much time would I have to give up?
The committee meets every two months in the Lewisham area and a crèche is provided. The meetings are usually held in the daytime and last for approximately two hours.
