What happens when you contact us?
Information and advice
We will ask you about your situation and explain the different types of support available. This may include:
- help to stay independent at home, such as equipment, carers or adaptations
- support for unpaid carers, including respite and financial advice
- guidance on benefits, housing and community services
Assessments and referrals
If you need ongoing support, we may arrange and assessment to understand your needs. This could be:
- a care needs assessment - to see what help you require at home or in the community
- a carer's assessment - to support you if you care for a loved one
- a financial assessment - to check if you quality for Council-funded support
If needed, we can also refer you to other services, such as advocacy support, mental health services or NHS care.
Urgent support
If you or someone you care far is at risk or struggling to cope, we can help you access emergency support.
- if there is an urgent safeguarding risk, we will take immediate action to protect you
- if you are unable to care for yourself or your carer is suddenly unavailable, we can arrange temporary carer
- if you need emergency housing or crisis support, we can refer you to the right team
