Deptford Neighbourhood Action neighbourhood forum and area

​The Mayor of Lewisham designated the Deptford Neighbourhood Action community group (DNA) as a neighbourhood forum and area in February 2016.

Application for the re-designation of Deptford Neighbourhood Action neighbourhood forum

In February 2021 a local community group submitted an application seeking the re-designation of their status as the neighbourhood forum responsible for neighbourhood planning matters within the Deptford Neighbourhood Action neighbourhood area. 

The application for the re-designation of Deptford Neighbourhood Action neighbourhood forum was not approved by Mayor and Cabinet on 6 October 2021. Deptford Neighbourhood Action are no longer the body responsible for neighbourhood planning matters within the designated neighbourhood area as shown on the map below.

The Deptford Neighbourhood Action (DNA) neighbourhood area

The Mayor approved the application to designate the DNA Neighbourhood Area and create the DNA Neighbourhood Forum at the Mayor and Cabinet meeting on 17 February 2016.

As a result of the Mayor’s decision, the DNA neighbourhood forum was authorised to prepare a neighbourhood development plan for the DNA neighbourhood area that falls within the administrative boundary of Lewisham.

Deptford Neighbourhood Action also submitted an application for a neighbourhood area and forum within the administrative boundaries of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. There is more information on this additional application on the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s website.

DNA neighbourhood forum

Deptford Neighbourhood Action (DNA) is the name of the community group that made the neighbourhood and forum and area application.
