Lost and stray cats

Find out how to report strays and report or find your lost cat.

Report a lost cat

If your cat is lost or stolen, tell us and we will cross-reference your pet's details with any reports of found animals.

You can report your lost cat using our online form below. We will ask you for:

  • where and when you lost the cat
  • information about the cat including the breed, if you know it.

Claim a lost cat

If you are aware that we have your cat, which was lost or stolen, you can let us know you want to claim it back.

Please fill in the online form – we will need your contact details and some information about the cat.

Report a stray cat

Let us know if you believe a cat to be stray and we will try to reunite them with their owner.

In the eyes of the law there is no definition of a stray cat. Before we take any action we need to establish if the cat is lost, without a home or just an opportunist feeder.

If the cat appears to be healthy, approachable and well cared for, we will place a temporary collar on the cat asking the owner to call us.

If no one comes forward the cat will be placed on a waiting list to get into a rescue centre.

If the cat appears to be sick or injured, we will collect it straight away where possible and take it to a veterinary surgeon.

We will do everything possible to contact the owner. However, if no one claims the cat, it will be placed on a waiting list to get into a rescue centre.
