We are developing our Youth Offer which will support you in finding work. There are a great selection of employment, skills and training resources for young people:

Advice

Young Futures

Young Futures is an employment, education and training advice service for young people aged 18-24. For more information, please visit the Young Futures.

Prince’s Trust

The Prince’s Trust is a charity for young people aged 11-30, no matter how serious the issues you face. They have lots of programmes to build confidence, get a job or start a business.

National Careers Service

The National Careers Service is a free service for adults and young people.

Spear Programme

The Spear Programme is for 16-24 year olds who are out of work or education. It is free and online. 

The training will help you with your CV and interview skills. It also focuses on COVID-19 employment challenges. The programme will support you for 12 months with career support.

Youth Employment UK

Youth Employment UK helps 14–24 year olds to get training, careers advice and help finding a job. Find out more about Youth Employment UK on their website.

Lewisham College provides a range of:

  • apprenticeships.

Lewisham College has one campus on Lewisham Way and one in Deptford Bridge. Courses start all year round.

Adult Learning Lewisham

Adult Learning Lewisham is for anyone over 16 years old. 

Adult Learning Lewisham has a range of courses including:

  • maths
  • ICT
  • employability 
  • work-specific courses.

We provide goal planning and support on how to move into work.

Financial support if you are unemployed

The Jobcentre Plus can help you get benefits such as Universal Credit if you are unemployed. You need to let them know that you are not working.
