Abbey Manor College

Abbey Manor College provides educational programmes for 11 to 19 year-olds who do not conform to conventional education.

The College offers constructive learning based on National Curriculum subjects at Key Stage 3 and vocational programmes at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

It caters for permanently excluded and intervention students who have experienced difficulties in previous placements.

The college operates on two campuses: John Evelyn in Ladywell for Key Stage 3 learners (ages 11–13) and Broadoak in Lee for Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 learners (ages 14–19).

Placement at Abbey Manor College is decided through the Lewisham Fair Access Panel and the SEN Placement Panel. Intervention placements are requested by secondary schools direct to the College.

Specialism:

Educational programmes for 11–19 year-olds who have experienced difficulties in previous placements, including those with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.

Criteria:

Students are referred to the College for a variety of reasons including:

  • permanent exclusions in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

  • Key Stage 4 students at risk of permanent exclusion

  • students unable to access main stream education for medical reasons

  • special Educational Needs students requiring an assessment

  • Year 11 students moving into Lewisham late in the academic year.
