Parent and baby yoga class (6 weeks to crawling)

As every aspect of your life will include baby now, why not come along to this yoga class where your baby will join in too! While you are learning techniques to relax, release stress, mobilise and build strength back safely, your baby will be enjoying gentle and playful moves and exercises, with massage and songs to support their developmental stages through yoga. You will develop core stability through breath and movement, learn simple moves to stretch, restore and tone while bonding and relaxing.

What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
No prior knowledge or experience is required to enrol for this course. This course is planned for parents, grandparents or carers to enjoy and learn together with their babies.

Learning Goals:
Practice poses to strengthen muscles affected by giving birth – your tummy, pelvic floor and back Learn ways of calming and relaxing yourself and your baby and even making your bond stronger Record work in progress and end result (photo/video) and upload it onto the course page On your ILP, write a paragraph about the impact of the course and your next steps

What teaching methods will the tutor use?
The tutor will use range of whole group, small group and individual activities, discussions, demonstrations and exercises to suit a range of learning styles and needs.

What assessment methods will the tutor use?
The course tutor will use a range of methods to assess progress on the course. These will include: informal initial assessment, observation, individual learning plan, progress tracking, evaluation, question and answer sessions, learner feedback.

Will extra work be required outside the class times?
You will need to take every opportunity to practise your learnt skills. You will be encouraged to access ALL Moodle/Google Classroom for re-cap and additional resources and links that your tutor will share for further development. This may include various online activities suited for the whole family.

What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?
All resources, materials, tools and equipment will be provided. Course fee is payable at the point of enrolment.

What do I need to bring to the first class?
You will need to wear suitable clothing.

Options when finished
You can enrol on other family learning courses to enjoy and learn new skills together with your child, a family learning English, maths or parenting course to further develop your skills and enable you to help your child with more confidence. You may also progress on to one of our many exciting courses for adults in a wide range of subject areas including accredited courses in some subject areas.

Additional information
This course is for parents, grandparents or carers to enjoy with your children. You are required to attend this course with minimum of one and maximum of two children. You must attend every session, on time and participate fully, in order to make progress. You are expected to report any absence to your course tutor. You will be given contact information by your course tutor. Please ensure that you provide an accurate telephone number and email address on enrolment as we may need to contact you before the start of the course with important information.
