What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
No prior knowledge or experience is required, but learners with some experience are also encouraged to enrol.

Learning Goals:
Understand how to mix colours using paint and pastels. Feel confident with mixing colours and understand colour bias. Know how to use colour to achieve results for compostion, atmospheric perspective and simultaneous contrast of colour. Identify and achieve a personal goal as discussed with your tutor.

What teaching methods will the tutor use?
The tutor will use a range of teaching methods during the class, including demonstration, one to one tuition, group work, observation, discussion and question and answer sessions.

What assessment methods will the tutor use?
The tutor will use a range of methods to assess your progress during the class. These may include observation, evaluation of your work and a question and answer session.

Will extra work be required outside the class times?
This is a one day class and does not require any additional work.

What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?
Please do not purchase anything before the session unless requested to do so. No liability can be accepted for expenses incurred for a course cancelled or altered at short notice.

What do I need to bring to the first class?
This is a practical subject, so please wear suitable clothing. Materials will be provided, but learners are welcome to bring their own if they like.

Options when finished
The department offers a wide variety of art, pottery and performing arts courses. Information about these courses is available through the tutor, the curriculum leader or the ALL programme.

Please note that ALL cannot be held responsible for any items including work, materials and tools left by the learner in our workrooms. Learners are expected to remove items at the end of the session.
