Share your views on parking in Deptford Central, Deptford South, Elverson and Ladywell

Complete the survey and share your views, as well as ideas for other improvements and sustainable transport measures in your area.

As part of our Sustainable Streets programme, we are reviewing parking permit schemes currently in operation across the borough. Reviews were carried out in Blackheath (Zone BHA), Lewisham Central (Zone B) and Rushey Green West (Zone E) earlier this year.

The next areas where we are reviewing parking permit schemes that are in operation are:

  • Deptford Central (Zone S)
  • Deptford South (DS)
  • Elverson (Zone G)
  • Ladywell (Zone T)

View the areas currently covered by these zones.

Residents and businesses on streets within these zones are being asked to share their views on the current parking restrictions in their area. As well as reviewing existing parking arrangements, we want to know what other sustainable transport measures and improvements people would like to see on their street, such as more street trees, safer crossing points, cycle hangars, electric vehicle charging points and car club bays.

The consultation survey includes an online survey about parking restrictions and an interactive map where residents can share their ideas for new sustainable transport measures and improvements in their area.

Residents in these areas will receive a postcard with information about the consultation and details about where paper copies of the survey can be collected. The surveys for these areas are open until the end of Sunday 21 January 2024.

Other areas where parking permit schemes are currently in operation will be consulted later in the programme.

Sustainable Streets programme

Our Sustainable Streets programme aims to create better street for residents, reduce the number of car journeys made in Lewisham and encourage more people to walk, cycle or use public transport, in order to reduce traffic and pollution, improve road safety and lower carbon emissions. The programme is being rolled out in a phased approach across the borough, with consultation carried out earlier this year on proposals for roads in Deptford, Catford, Crofton Park and Evelyn.

As part of this work, we are also consulting residents in areas where parking permit schemes are currently in operation and asking them about other improvements and sustainable transport measures that they would like to see on their street. This is being done in a phased approach, with Lewisham Central (Zone B), Blackheath (Zone BHA) and Rushey Green West (Zone E) the first areas to be consulted earlier this year.
