Pupils must:have a statement of Special Educational Needs or be undergoing a formal assessment under the 1996 Education Acthave a recent diagnosis of specific language disorder evidenced by a speech and language therapy assessmentpresent with the ability to be included in some mainstream classes and activities, therefore, students will typically be working at or above Level 1 in the subject areas of English and Maths.  Specialist support offered:   The Manager of Lexis has a Master’s Degree in Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).Deputy of the Resource Base has a diploma in SLCN.All staff within the base have had training in specific SLCN methods.A speech and language therapist works in the base 2.5 days a week.
